Dr. Y.S.R. Horticultural University is established by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh in the year 2007 to provide quality education and training in horticulture to students. It is second Horticulture University of the nation and first in south India. For Andhra Pradesh being the leader in the production of mango, oil palm, chilies, turmeric, sweet orange, papaya and also being the second largest producer of fruits.

The vision of Development of Horticulture for providing nutritional security to the people and increasing the profitability to the farmers through the development of appropriate technologies and manpower in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
